The secret weapon to fast pattern drafting

Hi Besties,
If you're new to pattern making or you’ve been drafting patterns for long, one of the best and most valuable thing you need to have is a set of basic blocks or Slopers.
These sets of blocks above are foundation or templates you create using your own measurements. They are so important in pattern making. They help save your pattern making time because you can reuse these blocks over and over again for years.

Once you’ve worked hard to draft these blocks (slopers) you will need to fit them perfectly, so you don’t have to redo them every time. These will become permanent, reusable pattern blocks that you can trace from whenever you design something new.

To make these permanent blocks, I use this HARD PAPER ROLL
This paper roll is a heavy-weight paperboard. It is very sturdy and designed to hold up to years of tracing, pinning, and handling. You can punch holes, add notches, and label it without worrying about tearing.
I like that it comes in a roll, that way, I can make perfect full-size garment patterns.
I also like it because, it’s durable. Unlike the regular white thin paper, this paper roll doesn’t rip when you pin or fold it. You can reuse the same block or pattern piece for years and years. In fact, I have actually used my set of blocks for more than five(5) years, and it's still going strong.
It’s also easily traceable with smooth edges. When you trace around the block pattern onto fabric or paper, you’ll get clean, accurate lines every time.
I got this cardboard roll from Amazon. And since then I have never been happier😃 It was a great purchase that has saved me so much time and made my pattern drafting fast and less stressful.

If you’re serious about sewing and want your handmade wardrobe to last, you’ll quickly find out that good patterns are invaluable like gold. Drafting them on thin or light paper can be frustrating, they tear, wrinkle, and wear out after only a few uses. That’s why I use this hard cardboard roll.

This paper roll is more than just paper. It’s an investment in your sewing practice, helping you create reusable, reliable patterns that grow with your skills.
